The small island of Formentera lies only a few
miles south of Ibiza. The ferry service 6
to 10 times a day from the city of Ibiza is 11
miles from port to port and takes about an
hour. Formentera Town has three main
hotels and a population of around 5,000 people.
The way of life is much slower on Formentera
than on Ibiza or Mallorca and arriving
day-trippers can get around by bike or
moped. The island is mostly flat.
Numerous lovely beaches and coves remain
undeveloped in natural settings.
